Reigning GT4 champion Hayman and Murray took victory over the #227 Ford Mustang of Cameron McLeod/Mason Harvey.

Having struggled throughout the start of the season, the pair’s victory, combined with struggles for other title contenders, saw them inherit the championship lead.

Jarrod Hughes and Summer Rintoule rounded out the podium in the #87 McLaren.

Solo driver Jensen Shearer capped off a solid weekend to finish fourth, while Jack Wallis/Sam Paley came home fifth.

Murray led the field away from pole position, building a gap over Harvey with lightning reactions as the green flag waved.

Chris White immediately brought the #9 GWR Toyota Supra into third place, displacing Jensen Shearer.

As the leaders battled for position, chaos erupted at Turn 3 as Jobe Stewart was tipped into a spin by Blake Tracey.

Stewart’s #48 Audi was left stranded in the middle of the corner, forcing Lochie Dalton wide into the grass, while Jay Murray clipped Stewart, damaging the left-front suspension.

As Murray attempted to stay out of the field’s way, Race 1 Silver-Am winner Andrew Torti made wheel-to-wheel contact with the slowing BMW, launching the #88 Toyota high into the air.

Murray’s #7 BMW ground to a halt on the run to Turn 6, drawing the safety car.

Torti continued back to the pit lane, initially continuing with what appeared to be minimal damage.

However, the Supra was back into the lane a lap later, eventually pushed into the garage and out of the race.

Tracey was awarded a drive through penalty for the contact on Stewart.

Jarrod Keyte survived a scary moment when he was spun at Turn 2 in a battle with Dalton, which culminated in the #21 Mustang rolling backwards across the circuit.

All incoming cars managed to avoid the stricken Mustang, and Keyte was able to recover and continue unscathed.

In a race of attrition, White began to slow on the back straight, with high engine temperature taking the Race 1 winner out of contention.

A handful of laps later, Steve Jakic was side-lined by a punctured right rear tyre, dropping the Silver-Am championship leading car well out of contention.

The long green flag run allowed Stewart and Dalton to get back into the top 15 prior to the pit stop cycle.

With no additional pit stop time, Hayman kept the lead once aboard the #25 McLaren, closely followed by McLeod.

A slight delay for third place runner Jensen Shearer while exiting the pit lane saw Hughes able to enter podium contention following a solid opening stint from Rintoule.

William Exton/Jack Johnson brought the #114 McLaren home in sixth spot, ahead of solo Silver Cup competitor Jake Camilleri.

Caleb Paterson and substitute co-driver Scott Green finished in eighth position outright to take Silver-Am Cup honours.

Aaron Cameron/Dalton recovered to finish ninth, ahead of Purdie/Stewart rounding out the top 10.

Glenn Walker bounced back from issues in Race 1 to take the Am Cup victory in 12th position outright.
